This is no surprise at all, and it doesn’t mark Oracle’s “entrance” into the BI market. Oracle’s been a strong player in the ERP, BI, analytics, data warehousing, corporate performance management, and data integration markets for some time. It only makes sense for Oracle to lay down a roadmap for bringing all of that data-intensive/processor-intensive functionality to its new grid-enabled 10g platform generation. It would be good if trade-press reporters/editors did a smidgen of background research before they publish stories/headlines such as this.
