Aweekstweets June 27 to July 4 2015: the week I aged 7 days

Love these summer doldrums. It's not that nothing happens. It's just that what happens drifts randomly in warm still currents, mid-ocean.

"The 7 greatest pivots in tech history" (http://ow.ly/PbAwQ ) JK--Or you could think of this as startups becoming restartups.

Wife didn't understand the concept of driverless cars till I explained that they're not necessarily passengerless.

Spending July 4th in the traditional manner: watching SNL’s best of Will Ferrell on basic cable. He upped the games of other cast members.

It’s convenient that Independence Day and the Fourth of July fall on the same day this year.

Corn on the cob. It’s pretty much the Fourth of July special dinner. Goes down well on a hot summer day

20 years ago on this very day, I was 20 years younger. May the record note!

Teacher in exercise class today played some random mix. Turned out great. Included back2back Bon Iver songs: "For Emma" & "Skinny Love"

Got a good solid 10 hours of sleep last night. Now I'm only 7,845 hours in the hole on the sleep-deficit ledger. Digging my way out!

Actress Stacey Dash now commentator on Fox News. Saw her out of the corner of my eye at my club. "Oh," said I, "she's still doing Clueless"

Did some new-car shopping. Test-drove a cool car in Alexandria. Lady in another car rolled down window to admire. "Thanks, not mine!" said I

The Midwest. I grew up there. Never felt like the West. It's closer to Canada, geo & culturally. I prefer to think of it as the Midnorth.

"Puff the Magic Dragon." If Peter Yarrow had called it "Take a Drag on the Magic Puffin," he would have given the game away. Shrewd!

The destructive storm known as a "derecho." If it hits you out of left field, does it get reclassified as an "izquierdo"?

"Millennials: Why Customer Service Will Never Be The Same" (http://ow.ly/P61D1 ) JK--I vote for renaming them the "Yuppie 2.0 Generation"

The term "millennials" always gives me the shivers. Can't help thinking of "millennial cults," a la this Wikipedia:...
